Users Hangouts feature, conversations via video in the e-mails Gmail in Chrome browser extension or social network Google +, both Google can now make free phone calls into the United States and Canada, the company posted on its official blog.
The feature initially only applies to users in the country. Links to outside the country are charged and start at $ 0.02 a minute.
Users can still make a group call, combining video (with a user on another PC) and another user talking on the phone or mobile. To use the feature, which begins to be available from this Wednesday (10), users should click on the "call a phone" (a phone call, in translation).According to Google, more countries must gain function in the coming months, but did not elaborate.
The company's intention is to take the resource for mobile applications for smartphones, but there is no prediction.
"Hangouts was developed to be the future of Google Voice, and make and receive phone calls is just the beginning," said the statement on the official blog.
